26 June 2010 Lionel Green, author of A Priory Revealed (2005), the first major book on Merton Priory for a hundred years, died on Saturday 26 June 2010, following a heart attack. A Thanksgiving Service for his life was held at St. John’s Church, North Holmwood, on Wednesday 7th July 20101 at 2pm. The Merton Priory Trust is enormously grateful for Lionel Green’s passion and research and the way he shared this knowledge and enthusiasm with a wider audience, and offers condolences to his family and friends.
