31 May 2005. At Merton council’s request we are progressing the project as part of a borough wide museums and heritage plan, being carried out with the National Trust at Merton Hall, Groundwork Merton, SEA/Renue and others, to create a ribbon of museums/open spaces along this stretch of the Wandle, celebrating its industrial and sustainable-husbandry history. The leader of the council chaired a meeting on 20 May 2005 to set up this initiative, and we expect swift progress over the summer of 2005. Further news will be posted here.
